Gynaecology is the specialty treating diseases of the female reproductive system. Obstetricians follow patients during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

Abdominal and pelvic ultrasounds, and endovaginal ultrasounds.
Colposcopies and hysteroscopies
Hysteroscopies are examinations to visualise the uterine cavity, and thus diagnose possible lesions which are responsible for abnormal haemorrhages, infertility, repeated miscarriages and malformations.
It is performed on outpatients under a low-risk local anaesthesia.
It is contraindicated in pregnant women, and in cases of acute infections, and active haemorrhages.
